FULL DAY DOG DAY CARE IS AVAILABLE IN BALLARD ONLY. TEENS CAMP DAYS – Both Locations!

OUR DAYCARE PHILOSOPHY

At Dog’s Day Out, we believe that healthy, happy dogs thrive on connection, enrichment, and gentle guidance. Our unique blend of training-focused daycare provides more than just playtime—it’s a full day of learning, exercise, and safe socialization designed to nurture both mind and body.

We keep our groups small and thoughtfully matched, so every dog enjoys positive interactions and personalized attention. With an emphasis on education for both dogs and their humans, we help build stronger communication, desired behaviors, and deeper understanding—creating harmony at home and happiness that lasts.

YOUR DOG’S DAY!

Day care hours are 7:00am – 6:30pm Monday through Thursday at our Ballard facility only – 6733 15th Ave NW 98117. We do offer Drop-off Puppy & Teens Camps at our Burien location as well as Teens Camp Days in Ballard on Fridays and Burien on Thursdays

At Dog’s Day Out, we’ve built our program around quality—not quantity. We’re proud to offer a more personal, thoughtful approach to dog daycare and training that focuses on each dog’s emotional well-being, behavior, and happiness. We differ  from many other day care facilities in 3 ways…

1. Small by Design
We intentionally keep our groups small—only 14 dogs per day—to ensure every dog gets the individual attention and supervision they deserve. Smaller groups mean safer play, less stress, and a more positive experience for everyone.

2. Training-Focused and Behaviorally Informed
Dog’s Day Out is first and foremost a training and behavior center, not just a play space. Every staff member is highly trained in canine body language and behavior and is certified—or actively working toward certification—in professional training and Fear-Free handling. This expertise allows us to recognize and redirect potential issues before they escalate, ensuring a calm, cooperative, and fun environment for all dogs.

3. Experience You Can Trust
We’ve been pioneers in positive, behavior-based daycare since 2000—making us Seattle’s longest-running facility of its kind. With decades of experience and ongoing professional education, our passion for helping dogs and their humans continues to grow stronger every year.

A  Day Full of Play, Learning and Rest

Just like people, dogs need both activity and downtime. Our daily schedule includes periods of play, training, enrichment, and quiet rest to help each dog recharge. Whether it’s a comfy nap, a frozen KONG, or a soothing chew, every dog gets what they need to relax—always included, never extra.

To get started, see DAY CARE REQUIREMENTS & APPLICATION HERE and feel free to email Info@dogsdayoutseattle.com  to inquire about current availability and schedule an evaluation.

TEENS CAMP – SINGLE DAYS  – 4 hour drop off days for dog-social dogs 4.5 months – 2 years at our Ballard day care on Fridays and our Burien location on Thursdays. Teens Camp is more training-focused than our regular day care day and is limited to 6 dogs with 2 trainers.

Our Teen Training Camp is designed just for adolescent dogs (4½ to 24 months)— AKA the“teen” stage when both energy and emotions run high. During this time, a dog’s brain is still developing—especially the parts that control impulse, focus, and emotional regulation.

Like our regular day care, using only positive reinforcement, we help your dog build focus, confidence, and self-control through a balance of structured play, rest, and training.

Every camp day is packed with opportunities to practice critical life skills, including:

  • Impulse Control: Learning to wait patiently for permission, take turns, and manage excitement before play or treats.

  • Calm Focus: Practicing how to tune in to their handler and respond even when the environment is full of distractions.

  • Polite Social Play: Understanding dog body language, taking breaks during play, and interacting safely with others.

  • Emotional Regulation: Developing the “on/off switch” — shifting smoothly between high-energy fun and calm relaxation.

  • Confidence Building: Gaining comfort with new people, dogs, sounds, and environments through positive experiences.

  • Reliable Recalls: Coming when called, even in the middle of play, and learning that returning doesn’t mean the fun ends.

  • Relaxation Skills: Settling calmly on cue, taking breaks on platforms or mats, and self-soothing after excitement.

Our experienced trainers guide every interaction to keep dogs in the “learning zone”—where they’re happy, engaged, and able to make great choices. Activities are designed to help your dog think before reacting, play kindly with others, and recover quickly from excitement.

At Dog’s Day Out, your dog isn’t just burning energy—they’re developing emotional balance, learning to listen, and discovering how to make great choices.

Registration links for these single day camps can be found on this page and an evaluation is not needed for camp days if your dog has had experience being dropped off somewhere and playing with other dogs off leash.
