Puppy Training
Here at Dog’s Day Out we believe the beginning stages of a dog’s life are extremely important and if you are lucky enough to be able to have your dog at a young age we are excited to be able to help you start him off right!
We offer a variety of special classes and programs designed specifically for puppies…
PUPPY POUNCE is 4-week class for dogs 8 to 16 weeks old (pup must have had their initial Distemper/Parvo vaccine no less than 10 days prior to the start of class). We offer this class in both Ballard and Georgetown.This class will cover age specific issues such as potty training, desensitization to sights, sounds & handling, mouthing, bite inhibition and jumping up as well as beginning work on commands including “sit”, “down” and “come”. We will discuss what to expect in different stages of canine development and socialization and allow pups to socialize with other pups and humans during supervised “recess” periods. We also offer weekly PLAY GROUP. These are 1-hour play sessions for puppies 8-20 weeks (pup must have had their initial Distemper/Parvo vaccine no less than 10 days prior to session). Here you can socialize your puppy in a safe and monitored environment. A trainer will be on hand while your pup learns crucial socialization, play and bite inhibition skills from his fellow pups. $10 per session, pre-registration (24 hour) is required.
For those of you who are working all day we have a special dog walking program to handle specific needs of a puppy. Our dog walking PUPPY PROGRAM: Here we provide appropriate in-home services for puppies 7-20 weeks of age. We will spend one hour with the puppy working on housebreaking, controlled socialization, desensitization, game playing and beginning leash walking as well as simple commands such as sit, down & wait.

Whether you have a new puppy or thinking of getting one or just miss getting into a puppy class, this seminar will get you started on the basics of what you need to know to raise a great pup! We will discuss the best methods of management, house breaking, desensitization, socialization and stages of canine development.
We also offer special starter PRIVATE LESSONS for puppies either on site at Dog’s Day Out on Ballard or in your home.
